Jordanian princess and philanthropist
Princess Firyal[2] (néeFiryal IrshaidArabic: فريال إرشيد; born 1945) is a Jordanian humanitarian and philanthropist.
She became a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 1992,[3][4] working on programs for education and protection of world heritage. She is a board member at the International Rescue Committee (IRC),[5]New York Public Library,[6] and a wide range of museums and universities, including the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Irshaid is a graduate of Columbia University.[7] From 1964 to 1978, she was married to Prince Muhammad bin Talal—younger brother of King Hussein of Jordan—by whom she has two sons, Prince Talal and Prince Ghazi.

Firyal Irshaid (arabisch , DMGFiryāl Iršaid; * 1945 in Jerusalem[1]) ist Mitglied des jordanischen Königshauses und Philanthropin.[2] Sie ist weltweit für Bildungs-, Kultur- und Sozialeinrichtungen und -organisationen tätig.
Herkunft und Ausbildung
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]Firyal Irshaid wurde 1945 in Jerusalem geboren.[1] Sie ist die Tochter des früheren Ministers und Senators Sayyid Farid Mahmoud Irshaid. ihre Mutter Farida war Leiterin der Rothalbmond-Gesellschaft in der West Bank.[3]
Irshaid besuchte die Universität Bir Zait im Westjordanland. Sie studierte zwei Jahre an der Libanesisch-Amerikanischen Universität in Beirut vor ihrer Heirat; sie schloss ihr Studium mit einem Bachelor 1999 an der Columbia University School of General Studies in New York City ab.[4][5]
