Early life and education

Stefan Weber, director of the Museum of Islamic Art, conducted a tour of the exhibition for him in Arabic. The Prince was accompanied by six of his sons and a delegation from various scientific and cultural institutions in Berlin (the German Archaeological Institute's Orient Department, the Akademie der Künste and the Zentrum Moderner Orient), as well as members of the Deutsch-Arabische Freundschaftsgesellschaft, an organisation for intercultural dialogue between Germany and the Middle East. • Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was born on 1 February 1970, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his early education at Riyadh Schools, a private school in the city of Riyadh, and later pursued a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at King Saud University, graduating in 1992. He continued his academic studies at the University of Oxford in the UK and obtained a DPhil in 1999, his thesis is titled: "Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf: Power Politics in Transition 1968-1971". Subsequently, he joined the teaching ranks as an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at King Saud University. In 2002, Faisal Bin Salman assumed the positions of Chairman and CEO of Saudi Research and Media Group (SMG), a distinguished Arab media and publishing company. In 2006, SRMG became the first media company in the Arab world to undergo an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and subsequently listed on the stock exchange.
