    Louise Miriam "Dillie" Keane (born 23 May [1]) is an actress, singer and comedian. She has been a member of the comedy cabaret trio Fascinating Aïda since its inception, and has also pursued a solo career. In , with Fascinating Aïda, she was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.

    Early life

    Born in Portsmouth in , Keane is the daughter of Frank Keane, a doctor from County Mayo, and Miriam Slattery, originally from Tralee, County Kerry, and was brought up in Portsmouth as a Roman Catholic.[2] "My mother was a dragon," Keane said in [3]

    Keane was educated at the strict Roman Catholic Woldingham School (or Sacred Heart), where she sang in the school choir and played the guitar on the Folk Mass album recorded by some of the girls at Abbey Road Studios in She has described the school as disorganised.     The group received a Perrier Award nomination at the Edinburgh Festival, and went on to be nominated three times for the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment (, and ), and twice for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue ( and ). Keane and Anderson were also nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics.

    Fascinating Aïda was founded in March by Dillie Keane,[1] along with Marilyn Cutts and Lizzie Richardson. The members have varied frequently, but the central two have been Adèle Anderson – who joined the group in – and Keane.     Issy was the longest serving of all the FA sopranos. During her fem years with the group she won the hearts of many fans from all round the world. Born in Hong Kong to Dutch parents, naturally. Lived in Japan, South Africa and then back to Hong Kong.
