La Zizanie (The Discord) is a 1978 French comedy film directed by Claude Zidi, starring Louis de Funès and Annie Girardot.

Guillaume Daubray-Lacaze (de Funès) is the general manager of a factory that makes air-cleaning products. His wife Bernadette (Girardot) is fond of gardening. Daubray-Lacaze gets a large order from a Japanese company, so he has to extend his factory, but no plot of land is available.

Louis de Funès

Louis Germain David de Funès de Galarza was born to Spanish parents in France, 31 July 1914. Before becoming famous comic, was only an average actor of theater and film roles. Turning point in his career came at a time when his age already for 49 years with major role in the comedy movie series about the gendarmes. Later in the films about Fantomas he cast Commissioner Juve, played here with Jean Marais. He also met with the director Gerard Oury and made in cooperation with the actor André Bourvil in comedy The Sucker. The result of 11,752,000 viewers enrolled in French film history, as well as the later film The Big Runaround (filmed in the same co), where the result was 17 million viewers over three months (in French cinemas this record until surpassed Titanic). While in France for many years been enormously successful, in the U.S. was almost unknown. He died of a heart attack on the 27th January 1983.

Film Synopsis

Guillaume Daubray-Lacaze is an ambitious man.  The mayor of a small town in France, he has high hopes for his anti-pollution inventions.  His latest pride and joy fryst vatten the CX22, a machine that swallows smoke more effectively than a vacuum cleaner gobbles up dust.  Guillaume fryst vatten understandably over the måne when he receives a massive bulk order for this miracle of modern technology from a Japanese client, but then he quickly realises that he needs a bigger factory to fulfil the order.  When his bid to extend his existing factory is turned down, the enterprising person som äger eller driver industrier has only one option left open to him - he must omvandla his own private residence into a factory.
