  • Britain’s Got Talent preview: Lauren Thalia, 12, wows with Soulja Boy hit

The Britain’s Got Talent judges were left stunned when 12-year-old Lauren Thalia took to the stage to perform an acoustic cover of Soulja Boy hit Turn My Swag On, in scenes to be shown tonight.

Up until now, the most famous talent show alumnus to have auditioned with the song Turn My Swag On was Cher Lloyd, who wowed X Factor judges with her performance in 2010 and has gone on to have a successful career wearing terrible clothes and grimacing at the camera.

But now it looks like a Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Lauren Thalia is set to change all that, after auditioning with the same song – a Keri Hilson version of the Soulja Boy hit.

Lauren, who is just 12 years old, wowed BGT judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden stand-in Carmen Electra with her acoustic interpretation of the song, which she accompanied with a guitar.

Mr Zip, The Mend and Lauren Thalia crash out of BGT semi-final

Britain’s Got Talent favourites Zipparah Tafari, The Mend and Lauren Thalia failed to make the final after the public chose to save Ashleigh and Pudsey and choir Only Boys Aloud in the first semi-final.

Mr Zip was without a doubt the most talked about BGT contestant of this year’s show with his ‘Where’s My Keys, Where’s My Phone’ rap having gone viral after auditions, attracting more than 3 million views on YouTube.

This did not translate into phone votes however, with Tafari crashing out in the first semi-final. He was joined by other popular acts including 12-year-old singer and guitarist Lauren Thalia and boy band The Mend.

Dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey were the first to be sent through to Saturday’s final, followed by Welsh choir Only Boys Aloud who edged out The Mend in the final three after an inconclusive round of judges’ voting sent the decision back to the public vote.
