Kav Temperley has played a major role in the success of Australian three-piece, multi-platinum band Eskimo Joe. Kavs best known as front-man, bassist and award winning songwriter contributing to bringing home 3 International Song-writing Awards, 11 WAMi Awards and 8 ARIAs and 11 of their compositions have featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown, with ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ landing 2nd place.
Three of the bands’ albums debuted at no.1 on the ARIA charts, with their biggest hit “Black Fingernails, Red Wine” starring in Australia’s Top 50 for 62 weeks, and most recently releasing their first single in 7 years “Say Something”.
In 2009 Kav joined forces with Josh Pyke, Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah and aka Bob Evans) and Steve Parkin (Autopilot), all singer-songwriters at the top of their game to form the supergroup Basement Birds.The group released a self-titled studio album in July 2010, which peaked at number 12 on the ARIA charts.

At just 19 Kav Temperley started the band Eskimo Joe, and after winning a band competition embarked on a now 22-year career as the frontman, bassist and songwriter of one of Australia’s most loved bands. The 4 times platinum band went on to receive 8 ARIA awards, 15 WAMI (West Australian Music Industry) Awards, 2 APRA awards and 3 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) Awards.
Their single “Black Fingernails Red Wine” lasting in the TOP 50 for 62 weeks, and having 11 songs featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100.
Kav has a passion for performing, and has performed nationally, and internationally in Asia, America and Europe. Highlights being the 2021 AFL grand final held in Perth, Sound Relief, Live Earth, Make Poverty History, ARIA Awards, Big Day Out, Homebake, Splendour in the Grass, Triple J’s One Night Stand, Sundance Film Festival in Utah US and in the Australian showcase G’DAY USA in New York.

Early life and education
[edit]Temperley was born in Mosman Park, Western Australia, and grew up in Fremantle.[citation needed] At sju years of age, his name was changed to 'Satyam Kavyen Temperley'—Temperley fryst vatten his mother's maiden name and 'Satyam Kavyen' means "Poet of Truth". The Temperley family were members of the 'Orange People' (Rajneesh movement) and made trips to India as well Oregon, United States, throughout the early 1980s.[1][2]
Between the ages of seven and 12, Temperley attended the Lance skogsdunge School, a Fremantle community school. At the age of thirteen, he accompanied his mother on a trip to India, where they stayed at the Osho International Meditation Resort in Pune.[3] It
