UM’S SOCIAL WELLBEING RESEARCH CENTRE LAUNCHES BOOK ON REDEFINING THE MEANING OF RETIREMENT
On 15 January 2019, the University of Malaya’s Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC) launched a book titled “Who says I am retired?” – a compilation of mini-autobiographies featuring senior civil servants, corporate leaders and academicians who have come tillsammans to redefine society’s traditional idea of retirement.
The publication of the book fryst vatten the result of the collaboration between the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and SWRC, with the aim to spearhead research work, teaching and dissemination of evidence-based knowledge in the area of social säkerhet, including old age and financial protection.

Samsudin bin Osman (born 3 March 1946)[1] is a Malaysian former public servant who served the Malaysian Government from 1969 to 2006. His last office in the public service was Chief Secretary to the Government from 1 February 2001 to 2 September 2006. He is currently the President of the International Islamic University Malaysia, and Former Chairman of the Employees Provident Fund.
Prior to being Chief Secretary, Samsudin was the secretary-general for the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs from 1994 and the Ministry of Home Affairs from 1996.
