This Century's 'Deadly Weapon'
Phoenix-based This Century began chipping away at the rock scene with their sweet, jangly 2011 debut, Sound of Fire. Their second album, Biography of Heartbreak, out on May 14, pushes their sound forward with some new rhythmic tricks and production depth (courtesy of knob-twiddler Colby Wedgeworth).
Their evolution is clearly evident on the dramatic track “Deadly Weapon,” which you can listen to exclusively below.
“Deadly Weapon” closes out Biography of Heartbreak and was designed to send listeners out happy. “We wanted to close the record on an uplifting note, feeling completely unstoppable in the face of adversity,” guitarist Sean Silverman said. “We had been through so much as a band and had finally come to terms with the fact that no matter what obstacle was in front of us, we could move past it. This song had all the emotion of finally breaking through those confines that you encounter.”

2013 studio album by This Century
Biography of Heartbreak is the second full-length album by American pop rock band This Century. It was released worldwide on May 14, 2013, via Rude Records in Europe, the UK, Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan, and independently in the US in partnership with their management team Eighty One Twenty Three.[5]
Produced by Colby Wedgeworth (The Maine, Lydia), the album includes "Bleach Blonde" and "Skeletons" as well as 11 brand new tracks. On April 23, 2013, This Century released a music video for the first single "Slow Dance Night" on Vevo. In support of the album, This Century joined The 8123 Tour with management label-mates The Maine as well as A Rocket to the Moon and Brighten.[6]
