T. N. Gopakumar (TV host )-365 words T. N. Gopakumar is a renowned TV host, producer, director and popular anchor in Asianet Channel. He shot to fame with a program named ‘Kannadi’(Mirror) which had the highest run in a Kerala TV channel. The script of this program ‘Kannadi’ was penned by noted anchor-cum- journalist T.N. Gopakumar himself.
He had the vision to uplift the society through this program. This program was aimed at different audiences, depending on age, socio-economic group or those from the particular section of the society. ‘Kannadi’ was a mix-debate or a news coverage that did provide analysis of news coverage and interviews about political, social and economic issues.

Veteran journalist and the Editor in Chief of Asianet News channel, TN Gopakumar, passed away in the early hours of Saturday after losing a brave battle to cancer in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
TN Gopakumar, known by the acronym TNG, was famous for his weekly show in Asianet “Kannadiâ€, which completed 22 years this year. “Kannadi†was the first Malayalam TV program to do in-depth news analysis of socio-political issues.
The mortal remains of the veteran Journalist will be kept at the Headquarters of Asianet News in Thiruvananthapuram from 1 pm to 3 pm and the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club from 3 pm to 4 pm before being taken to the crematorium in Thycaud.
TNG, born in 1957, leaves behind an illustrious career spanning 30 years out of which 22 years he worked with Asianet. He started his career with Asianet during the early days when it was launched as the first satellite channel in Malayalam. Bef

TN Gopakumar -or Gopan/Gopu as he was known to his friends, belonged to that rare breed of journalists who combined creativity with a deeply ingrained commitment to social causes.
